Introduction
About Indonesia Career Day (ICD)
Since South Korea has emerged as the new favorite studying abroad destination among Indonesians, it is estimated that the number of Indonesian Students in South Korea is more than 1000 and the level of study is ranging from language schools to doctoral degrees. The rise of economic power, abundant amount of provided scholarships and South Korea's reputation as one of the world technology powerhouses and 4th largest economy in Asia contribute to this phenomenon. Besides developing academic ability, most young Indonesian talents are exposed to a multilingual environment and adapt to a culturally different place of living. This condition shapes them to be a great competent and potential talent. However, the current available job fairs and job seeking websites are not sufficient enough to engage these potential talents.
Indonesian Professional Proportion in South Korea by Industry per September 2022
As September 2022, the number of Indonesia professionals in South Korea is estimated 350 individuals with Information technology industry scores the largest percentage with 22% of the total population. This is followed by media and entertainment with 17%, other engineering with 15% and finance with 14%. This shows the Indonesian talents are capable enough to meet the demand of human resources in South Korea. Indonesia Career Day (ICD) 2023 is the first job fair held by the Indonesia Professional Association (IPA) in South Korea. Based on the desire to facilitate the delivery of information in the current era, this activity aims to provide information to Indonesian young talents regarding job opportunities available in South Korea and Indonesia after completing their studies.
